At the beginning it was a small exclusive club made up of photographers from Stockholm but today the club consists of almost 1000 members from all over the country, divided into eight independent sections under the auspices of the organisation PFK Sweden.

PFK’s aim is to look after the interests of the press photographers as well as their pictures.

The club deals with among other things educational matters in co-operation with other organisations such as
Svenska Journalistförbundet / the Swedish Association of Journalists and

SFF Svenska Fotografernas Förbund / The Association of Swedish Photographers.

PFK also arranges the annual competition, Årets Bild / Picture of the Year, which attracts a lot of interest from the national photographic journalists and press photographers every year.

The press photographers’ club Sweden also runs a picture gallery, Galleri Kontrast AB, Hornsgatan 8 in Stockholm.
